Accessibility statement

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 at level AA. These guidelines are the widely used benchmark for making web content usable by people with a range of disabilities, including those who rely on screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnification or speech recognition.

In practice that means the site has been built so that you should be able to:

• move through every page and menu using a keyboard alone
• see a clear focus outline on the link or button you are on
• zoom text to 200 per cent without the content breaking or needing sideways scrolling
• read text that has enough contrast against its background
• follow a logical heading order that a screen reader can announce
• hear a text alternative for images that carry meaning

Animations on the site are kept light, and where your device asks for reduced motion, the site respects that setting.

We have checked the site against the guidelines and believe most of it meets level AA. Some parts do not, and we would rather tell you about them plainly than leave you to find them.

The enquiry form

The quote request form on each page is supplied by a third-party provider and loads inside an embedded frame. We control its colour but not its underlying code. Its labels, error messages and keyboard behaviour depend on that provider, and some screen reader users may find it harder to use than the rest of the site. The Google map

The contact page offers a Google map, which only loads when you choose to open it. The map is provided by Google and is not fully accessible: it relies heavily on visual information and pointer control. The places we cover are also listed as text on the areas we serve page, which is the more accessible route to the same information.

Older documents and links to other sites
